You heard that right. I went to a store a good ways away from me called half price books. I haven't been there since two years ago when I worked as a technology installer for the biggest healthcare system in the state. It was a ncie shopping trip out. I went there to find something interesting as a gift for someone that did me a solid a week or two ago, and got lost in seeing alot of other cool stuff. There was really like 4 DDR games in the store, but I already had one of the games they were selling. I also bought an Japanese horse derby sim game. And Bejeweled twist. Not as interesting, but i also got a new sudoku book and a nice reusable tote. Hopefully I keep this one.
Thinking about when I'm gonna play all these games. I have alot of emulation projects in my hobby backlog i sorta need to address. Like...
Made me think if I'm more of a collector than a fan of retro gaming. I supposed working and stuff makes it easier to buy and hoard than actually enjoy, and aside from the speculators that have made the retro games market uninhabitable for human life, I don't have much problem with folk who own or have access to something just to have it as a collector. However, i do want to actually enjoy some of these games at some point. It's been nice to return to playing old stuff as an adult. Especially when I've fallen out of love with mainstream stuff these days. I do wish there was a way to go back. I don't want to be a complete caveman, but the chase for graphical fidelity has been a disaster in my opinion. I think improvements in computing power have allowed for better games and improving the ability of indie devs to produce more robust games with less work as their predecessors, alot of it has been wasted by mainstream developers.
ahhh I'm kinda getting off track. I can go into more of this another time. I hope y'all are doing alright. You guys find anything interesting while out shopping? I'll probably add a comment box to the site at some point, but for now email me any comments @ yungboatfourfourfour@gmail.com (replace teh fours with the arabic numbers).
