Hello, My- name is Trashboat. I'm a 30-something that lives in Atlanta, GA. I'm what most folks would call a nerd. I was gonna start the previous sentence saying I'm a fighting game player, but my interests go past just mashing 2A on wakeup. I made this website to have a place online to put some of my interest and writings somewhere that isn't a social media site. As permanent as they may seem, Facebook, Instagram, and the like will not last forever. Whlie they don't have the same circumstances, Twitter proves that these are not permanent giants, but ethreal commodities that can detereorate at any second.
To give a general picture, my overall interests are video game genres that were very huge in the arcade era. So we're talking
- Beat em Ups
- Fighting Games
- Puzzle Games
- Rhythm Games
I also enjoy JRPGs and roguelikes/lites, but you won't find an arcade edition of Tales of Symphonia...yet. Some of my non- video game hobbies include writing, reading, research, graphic design, and shitposting. I can call mysefl an anime fan, but I'm very old in my tastes, and haven't watched much contemporary anime outside of Chainsaw Man and JJK. I recently got into watching Kamen Rider/Sentai, and there's lots of good Kung Fu movies to watch on Tubi.
In my late 20s, I realized i had a talent and interest for language. I started learning Portuguese about 3 years ago (2021) so I could talk with Brazilian players on Fightcade better. I'm not a master of the language yet, but I've progressed enough to go back to trying to learn Japanese.
This website will mainly be a place for me to host my writings on random subjects, but I'll also house other stuff like my favorite memes, and code for various stuff I've had a good hand in making. Maybe a good photo or two.
This is my first time making a "real" website, without using the sorta of editor you would find on wordpress or something. I'm very impressed with what I have so far, but I have bigger plans to make the site even better. Please folow my RSS feed (whenever that get's set up) and get new updates on my goings ons.
